About our Training..................
Training Fees
In order to continue our programs we must recover as many of our program costs as possible. The fees charged assist in recovering the costs of delivering the training to the community.
Certification
Once you have completed a Red Cross course you will receive a certificate of completion. To receive this certificate, you must effectively demonstrate your skills to the instructor and score 80% or better on a written exam. Red Cross CPR certificates are good for one year, First Aid certificates are good for three years and Instructor certificates are good for two years. Certificates are not issued for Safe Families classes.
Recertification Options
Without repeated use of the skills you learn, your ability to respond quickly and efficiently in an emergency situation diminishes. The Red Cross recommends you renew your CPR, First Aid and Preventing Disease Transmission certificate(s) by enrolling in a challenge or taking a full course.
Challenges are for people who feel confident they can renew their certificate(s) without retaking a course. Challenge participants are given a specific block of time to take a written test and demonstrate skills to an instructor without any coaching.
Regarding Participants' Health & Safety
If on the day of the course, you have a cold, sore throat, cold sores, or any other infectious condition, we ask that you reschedule your training for another time when you are feeling better and can fully benefit from the course content. If rescheduling is not possible, please contact Sue Lober, Director of Health & Safety, so arrangements can be made to accommodate your participation. Also, if you have any medical condition or disability that might prevent you from taking part in these practice sessions, please contact Sue Lober before the day of the training.
Some conditions such as recent surgeries or pregnancy may warrant advice from your doctor as to whether or not you should participate in skill practices at this time. If you are pregnant, please check with your physician for approval of your participation at this training.

Registrations are taken on a first-come first-serve basis, either by mail or in person. Payment for a course must accompany registration. Class sizes are limited. If space is not available, the fee will be refunded or applied to another course.
